So, the Marine has been thinking about moving to Wyoming. I am not sure why or for what...
apparently the Boy wants some space, and living downtown with neighbors and people isn't for him...
even though he picked this house out and purchased it knowing that it is surrounded by people, who we are called to be a witness, too. That's our current mission, to be like Jesus in the hard places, because honestly, who CHOOSES to live among the"ghetto" houses when we can afford something better and shinier and newer?
And with that revelation, I don't want to go to Colorado on the mission trip because it's too close to Wyoming and IF we do end up moving, the thoughts are going to come that it was a trip to plan our future alone, not for the students. I don't want to make other people stumble like that. There are many people who are so distrusting of CHURCH that anything that can be used as an excuse, will be right now. Like a wise person once said many times " any excuse will do".....
And so I wait and listen to discover things that God is teaching me. Things that I know have been branded into my heart in different season, but mean something different now. It's like the old Hymns of years gone by "trust and obey, for there's no other way. To be happy in Jesus, there's no other way, just to trust and obey" Which is why hymns are still important because we miss a lot of meaning and ability to worship with the older generation when all we give them is Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, and Bethel Music with a splash of David Crowder hymns. YEARS have the hymns been sung and to change because of style PREFERENCE instead of Jesus, does not make it right.
